When I worked at Folk, Orica approached us about making a suite of video transition templates.
They had previously hired a company to make them a high quality promotional video which they were happy with but when asked for the raw files so they could strip out the transitions no one could find them.
SO, my task was to watch the original video and recreate all of the transitions in template form in Adobe After Effects and also add another dozen or so new ones.
It was a difficult task just basically rewinding and analysing the original video over and over again but I learnt a lot of new techniques in After Effects and Orica were incredibly happy with the end result. You can see a few of them below.
